Overview

Sudan has 5173 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within its borders as of 31 May 2020.
The Government of Sudan has extended the closure of Sudan’s airports for domestic and international flights until Sunday, June 14, 2020 and all land borders remain closed.
Effective Wednesday, June 3, 2020, the Government of Sudan has extended the 24-hour lockdown in Khartoum for the next fourteen days, until Thursday, June 18, 2020. Limited exceptions between 6:00am and 3:00pm local time will apply for the public to go to grocery stores and pharmacies; this message will be updated with more details as they become available.
The previously announced ban on public transportation between cities and states for the rest of Sudan remains unchanged.

LOCKDOWN IN MAJOR CITIES

Authorities announced a three-week lockdown in Khartoum and Omdurman. Essential services such as supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open, but only for limited periods. Individuals will be allowed limited movement within their neighborhoods to purchase necessities. A nighttime curfew is in effect nationwide from 8pm to 6am, and a ban on domestic travel remains in place. (See primary source or citation here)
